bodhrán (4” deep, 15” wide) through a guided process that involves preparing the shell,
creating the bearing edge, applying a basic finish, and soaking and mounting the goatskin head.
In addition, the instructor will explain and demonstrate additional shell construction
techniques, tuning system fabrication, and specialty wood veneering. Prior woodworking
experience is not required, but participants should be prepared to use the following tools:
Wood files, Sanding Pads, Belt Sanders, Hand Staple Guns, Scissors/Razor Knife. Space is limited
to 5-10 participants.
NOTE: The course will require a $100 materials fee to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class. Students will also be asked to sign a liability waiver for the class which will be sent in advance.
Required materials: Participants should bring the following PPE.
- Safety glasses
- Work Gloves (optional)
- Earplugs, Dust Masks, and Nitrile Gloves will be provided. Participants may bring their
own if desired.

- Activity: Attach Nylon Strap
