CelticMKE Milwaukee Irish Fest Irish Fest Scrapbook School of Music Summer School Ward Irish Music Archives
The Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School takes place in the village of Wauwatosa, headquartered in the historic CelticMKE Center! Classes will be held at three locations, nestled within easy walking distance of each other and the village itself:
The Wauwatosa village is just a short walk away from our class locations. Students will be able to enjoy lunch at a number of fine restaurants, do some shopping between classes, or grab a snack and coffee with new friends.
We’re excited to bring the Summer School community to this great location!
Free parking is available at St. Matthew’s, the CelticMKE Center, the Wauwatosa Woman's Club, and Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church, as well as ample free public parking in Wauwatosa lots.
Parking Addresses:
The CelticMKE Center's parking lot will be prioritized for students with mobility issues and Summer School staff that have classes at the CelticMKE Center.
We recommend that students in classes at the Wauwatosa Woman's Club and St. Matthew's make use of St. Matthew's parking lot. Students with mobility issues can park in the Wauwatosa Woman's Club parking lot as well.
In 1998, Milwaukee Irish Fest opened its doors to the CelticMKE Center to provide a year-round facility dedicated to Irish-related activities including concerts, workshops, rehearsals and Gaelic language lessons.
The historic CelticMKE Center has been home to the Irish Fest School of Music since 2002, affording a beautiful space for private lessons, group classes, workshops. family sessions, rehearsals and concerts for musicians of all ages.
In addition, the center also houses the Ward Irish Music Archives, a collection of sound recordings, and other music-related items related to Irish and Irish-American music. Named after the late father of the festival's founder, Ed Ward, the archives promotes, preserves and celebrates Irish music in all forms.
The Wauwatosa Woman’s Club is a historic clubhouse and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
Please note that St. Bernard's (directly to the south of the CelticMKE Center) has ceased to be and does not have parking available. With construction for the new apartment complex underway, the sidewalk between the CelticMKE Center and Harwood Ave. is closed. Please cross the street at Milwaukee Ave. to enter the Wauwatosa Village area, or walk around Lincoln Place to access Harwood.
The Wauwatosa Village has a number of great spots to grab a coffee or a bite to eat -- and it's within easy walking distance of our class locations! Find a list of Village partners offering discounts to Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School during the week in your student or instructor folder.
