Gráinne Fitzgibbon
Teaching Harp (T-W-Th)
Gráinne Fitzgibbon is a performer and teacher of the harp from Banogue Co. Limerick. She grew up surrounded by music as her mother taught traditional music to children across Limerick. She is twice All- Ireland harp champion on the harp, winning the 15-18 title in 2012 and the senior title in 2015. She has toured with Comhaltas across Ireland, Britain, and Canada. She worked professionally as a harpist at Bunratty castle for 4 years, from 2016-2019. She is a finalist of the prestigious Bonn Óir Seán Ó’ Riada competition aired on Radió na Gaeltachta. She has appeared on Céilí House as well as on Fleadh TV in 2021 along with her siblings, all harpers. She is currently undertaking an M.A. in Irish Traditional Music performance at the University of Limerick which is due to be completed in September 2023. She recently performed at the Micho Russell traditional music festival in Doolin along with her fellow M.A. students. She prides herself in playing both dance music and the harping repertoire of the 17th and 18th century.
