Maria has been a part of the Milwaukee Irish Music Scene since the good old days at Nash's Irish Castle right up to today. She has taught and performed in several capacities in Milwaukee at the Irish Fest School of Music and Irish Fest Summer School, privately and at festivals throughout the country. Maria has qualified for the All-Ireland in senior fiddle and ceili band three times. She considers herself first and foremost a dance fiddler having played her first dance at the age of 16. She plays for Irish Ceili, Irish Set Dance, New England Contra, English Country Dance, Scottish Country Dancing, is in demand as an Irish Feis musician, and more. She also composes and has done music for theater including two Milwaukee Rep productions. She currently performs in the duo Rare Privilege with pianist/concertina player Amy McFarland, the Cream City Ceili Band, and is a Cultural Partner with the Milwaukee Symphony ACE program.
