Description: Everyone loves a mystery. This course will offer a brief survey of the history of Irish women writing crime before paging through over fifty women writers to add to your booklist, including Tana French, Jane Casey, Julie Parsons, and Claire McGowan. You’ll learn about fictional detectives, situations, themes, and settings, as well as the ways novels address contemporary social issues while also being haunted by the past. We will examine everything from thrillers to cozy mysteries—something for every taste and bookshelf.
